I guess I'm not the only one who is
mistaken.
So, this leads me to believe there is a huge misconception out there (pardon the pun)! This warrants serious research!
Also, I got a gift today at work! I'm being abused by the other staff members because no one else in this building seems to know how to work a computer. So, one of them started to feel bad and bought me a gift. It's a candle. It smells pretty, but I stick to my conviction that a candle is the most thoughtless gift you can buy a person. Don't get me wrong. It's nice. Just not very creative.

Well, this is a little embarrassing for
me to admit, but... Did anyone else know that male orgasm and ejaculation are exlusive - IE: You can have one without the other? I didn't know this, and I'm reading a book now that spells it out. Why didn't I know this? It's shocking, really, and it sort of skews my whole perception of male sexuality! I
can't be the only one to not know this, right? If so, then is it a cultural thing? Have we just always equated ejactulation with orgasm? If I man can ejaculate without having an orgasm (and they can), then the male orgasm can be faked just as easily as women's, right? Hm. If there are any men out there, I'd love to get you in on the discussion!
Anyway, this book is damn interesting. It's all about how pleasure is a primary function of sex. They say that although the
reason for sex is for reproduction, sex also has other functions. We have sex for it's own sake - because we like it. I'm only on page 6 and I've already learned so much!
Oh, on a COMPLETELY different topic,
here is the picture of me and Lisa at PEI last weekend. Notice it's a 'Rembrant'. Hyuck. That's right. I'm a model.

Did you know it was a long weekend this weekend? No one told me. What a nice surprise!!
Wait.. That means it's September - ack!
Yes, so
this is indeed quite useful, though not scientifically based at all.

I said goodbye to the Usurper today. Okay, okay. His name is
Thomas. After 8 weeks, he did grow on me a bit. Still, he was very shy and quiet, so I didn't get to know him all that well. However, his presence allowed me to get a bunch of stuff done this Summer I never would have got to on my own.
With that said, though, I'm a little glad to be queen of my domain again. People were starting to catch on that I know nothing about computers.
In other news, I am completely freaked out because I have no money. Nada. Nilch. My student loan payments come out in a few days, and though I have enough to cover it, of course, I'm pissed off that I no longer have savings. Actually, I'm pissed off that this time last Summer I was swimming in money. It's funny how much a second job brings in. However, it was hardly worth it.

Again, loooooving this weather!!!
Lisa and I went to PEI yesterday. It was the result of several failed plans, over several weeks. I was supposed to go to Grand Lake with my parents last week, but didn't because of the weather. Same thing this week. Then I was supposed to go to Fredders with Lisa, but that didn't work out either. So, at about 2, she calls me up letting me know we're going to PEI! I've been wanting to go all Summer, but things always seem to come up, and it's so damn expensive to get there (well, to get BACK, anyway..). So, we went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum.. My favorite attraction as a child. Then we got our hands molded from wax - also a very neat experience. We also got our picture drawn from a computer.. Sort of. I will scan it in later in the week. But I must say, we are quite the attractive duo!

Well, even though my life is entirely boring right now, the guilt of not updating has consumed me!! You vile, wretched creatures, you!
I'm a little upset that most of North America does not consider us part of the Eastern Seaboard - "Blackout hits Eastern Seaboard!".. Would that mean the Maritimes as well? Or are we floating off somewhere in the Atlantic now?
I'm also quite upset that good ol' Mel Lastman thinks that the rest of Ontario should be exempt from conserving energy, because they are "the economic engine that drives the rest of the province, even the country". It's comments that like that makes me grow even more and stronger roots into Maritime soil.
I've been totally loving the weather lately. Especially yesterday. It was something like 21 all day, which a crisp Fall breeze. Hot damn, I love that weather! Makes me to go out and buy Mary Jane's and plaid skirts and make a pumpkin pie.

Okay, Toronto pictures!
I must say, save for a few pictures where my finger was in the shot, these are the best batch of pictures I've had developped for a while. This is due entirely to the fact that I didn't use my crappy old camera, and bought a disposable camera with a decent speed film in it. Moral: I need to buy a frickin' camera.
Anyway.
This is the few from Caitlin's Terrace. From this view, I almost started to like Toronto.
This is Jana's brother. He obviously has a firm grip on men's fashion. Apparently, before these, his last sunglasses were those giant catarac goggles. Wow. Funny thing is, he didn't even notice I took this picture.
Ooh. Hello,
my pretties. This is Jess and Caitlin. We were at a little Mexican place (with real Mexicans and everything!) for Daquiries and nachos.
Fully
indulged.
This picture turned out just as I had hoped. Pretty, yes?

Official, I hate dreams.
Well, I hate dreams more than nightmares.
Think about it - when you have a nightmare, you wake up and are relieved that it's not true. But if you are having a good dream, you wake up feeling disappointed that it didn't happen.
Case in point - last night I had the best dream I think I have ever had. There was true love, good friends, and partying with celebrities (don't really remember who, but I clearly remember Nick Cage). Everything was coming up Jennifer! But then, I woke up. I was so.... sad. I've actually been kind of depressed all day about it. I'll get over it, but still....

Wow, you guys are ravenous!
Okay, here's the highlights (get comfy, folks):
1) While waiting to get picked up from the airport (2 hours..), I went outside to make a call on my cellphone, and saw the Designer Guys outside having a smoke. Because everyone in Toronto pays $1400/month in rent, they can't afford cable, which means they had no idea who
the Designer Guys were. I actually wouldn't have know who they were either, except they were both wearing black T-shirts with "Design, something something" written in white, so I then recognized who they were. Neat.
2) After finally being picked up by Jess, we made our way to Caitlin's apartment. Toronto people like to honk. Especially at green lights.
3) We got to Caitlin's retardly nice apartment (wood floors, high ceilings, central air condition, etc, etc), unloaded our stuff, and headed out. We ended up at a great little place just across the street from her place that had a terrace, and excellent 80's music. I again had another brush with Canadian Cable Celebrity -
Daryn from "Buzz". He was wearing a Mickey Mouse Shirt and drinking with some people at the table next to us. Again, no one knew who he was.
4) At aforementioned bar, we got nice and drunk and had a great time. It
so great to be with them again. We talked a lot about sex. We decided to go back to Caitlin's drink more, and watch some of our old home movies from 10 Charlotte.
5) We decided to mix Rasberry Vodka with.. uhm.. Gin, I think. Anyway, it was vile. We went up to the "Party Room", which is essentially this giant room with a few bits of exercise equipment and a bar (not stocked, thankfully), a fridge, a TV and VCR. On either side are doors that lead out to a great terrace which a wonderful few of downtown T.O. Pictures to come! Turned out that the tape was all messed up, so we couldn't watch it. We went outside and tried to drink, but couldn't. Jess decided she would invent the "Patilight" (not really sure on the spelling..). We went to bed. We woke up Caitlin's fiancé, George, when we were brushing our teeth. We took about 30 pictures of this. Jess and I stayed up for a little while and talked about life like we used to. Awesome.
6) We woke up the next morning with surprisingly minor hangovers. We went to breakfast, then walked around downtown and Jess got sneakers from Payless (silly girl only brought flip-flops and knee-high boots!). We decided to have a BBQ on the terrace and have some dacquiries.
7) Had BBQ and drinks. A bit of a low-key night, because we all wanted to be rested for the concert the next day. Learned that BBQ Corn on the cob is REALLY good.
8) Read everyone Tarot cards and listened to music. Danced. Tried to smoke a petit joint.
9) Next morning, cuz up to get ready for the concert. Cait and Jess were making me feel guilty for not going with them. Felt a little torn, but plans were made. Went to breakfast at the Coach House. Watched the gathering crowds on TV. Got a little nervous.
10) I got dropped off at Jana's apartment. A big improvement from the last apartment. We chilled for a bit, and talked to various people trying to make plans for the concert. The plan was to meet Vicki and Jana's friend, Sarah behind the stage and the first aid station. BAD idea.
11) Left for the concert at about 5:30 (Jana's bro was late). We arrived at about 6:30. Subways and line ups were surprisingly pleasant. Security was a joke. After getting there, we sort of decided that trying to find
anyone would be impossible. We thought we'd be able to communicate via cell phones, but they didn't work. We plunked ourselves down beside an SUV that was mysteriously parked in the middle of the crowd. We arrived just as The Guess Who was finishing their set.
12) I had little perspective of how big that crowd was. We were sort of looking over the crowd, so we had a pretty direct view of the stage, though they still looked like ants. Rush played, and a camera crew was going around the crowd near us. I figured it was some local news people, but I found out upon returning home that it was Much More Music. You can see the SUV, and our backs, twice. Almost famous.
13) Interesting fact. There is no 4th floor in Caitlin's apartment. The number 4 is seen as bad luck in Asian culture.
14) Not a big Rush fan, so we 'indulged' a bit while they played. We were a bit freaked out because there were a bunch of families arounds us with young children. But we figured they were aware of what goes on a rock concert.
15) AC/DC came on. They were probably the best of the bands we saw. Lots of energy. The sound was
amazing. The sun went down and it cooled off quite a bit.
16) The Stones came on a little later than expected. They were pretty much like any Stones show you have seen on TV. Justin came out for a bit of a song with Mick, and interjected a few lines of 'Cry Me a River'. Wanker.
17) There were some fireworks after the concert. They were good, but the Canada Day ones here were much better.
18) We followed the crowd out of the concert, only to come to a fence. Some lovely gentlement took turns in lifted the bottom of the fence up so we could climb under (the 'right way' to get out was through gates near the stage, but we didn't know that). We walked along a highway (think Vaughan Harvey but a lot bigger) that they had closed down for the concert. There were tons of helicopters overhead. The first few subway stops were pretty full, so we decided to keep walking. We eventually got to a stop, but had to climb up a hill and over a concrete barrier. I got halfway up, but fell down, and got a super big bruise on my left arm, and some minor ones on my other arm and leg. They're pretty much gone now, but I took a picture of it.
19) We got home at about 1:30, tired and dirty and sweaty. I woke up the next morning and walked to Tim's to get coffee, and got some cantelope. Waited until 3 for Jana to get up. At about 6, we felt for Elmira. My mother called and yelled at me for not calling after the concert. She said she had called my number once before and a 'strange man' picked up. Haha. She obviously called the wrong number, but it was funny to let her believe that I hooked up.
20) The rest of the time was spent in Elmira with Jana. Funniest sight: Seeing a mennonite going through a corn field on a bike . . . with a
gun. Neatest sight: Flocks and flocks of Canada Geese. Ontarioans didn't realize that we don't have them around here, except at the zoo. At one place, they were holding up traffic cuz they were walking across a 4 lane highway. Again, pictures to follow.
That is pretty much it, I think. I hope you're all happy now. :)
